The LIB-81/A2 AIT-2 StorStation External Ultra Wide LVD/SE SCSI Tape Autoloader from Sony helps automate backup process for your departments, workgroups, and small- to medium-sized businesses. This autoloader incorporates one AIT-2 drive and eight cartridge slots to store more than a week's worth of high-capacity backup without daily manual tape changes. It delivers a sustained data transfer rate of 6 MBps (native) and 15 MBps (compressed) and stores up to 0.4 TB (native) and 1.04 TB (compressed) data to meet your storage needs and decrease your data backup window. At just eight inches high, the autoloader is only slightly larger than a standalone drive, allowing for simple placement on a desktop or atop a server. It incorporates a user-friendly front panel with a message display and diagnostic lights to make backup easy even for those without IT training. The sleek StorStation AIT-2 Autoloader provides backward read/write compatibility with all previous generations of AIT cartridges. To support the transition from DDS to AIT, Sony's LIB-D81/A2 autoloader includes NovaStor Corporation's TapeCopy v2.0 Library Edition tape conversion and duplication software which enables users to transfer data from any other tape format to AIT.
